Sound Healing Comes to the Hold Me Tight® Couples Workshop in Utah
Sometimes reconnecting with the person you love requires more than finding the right words. Sometimes it begins with slowing down, stepping away from the noise of everyday life, and creating enough quiet to simply be present with one another.
That is already at the heart of the upcoming Hold Me Tight® Couples Workshop, September 4–6, 2026, at Dickinson Ranch near Cedar City, Utah.
And now we're excited to announce a special addition to the weekend.
Zosha from Sound Will Heal will be joining us as a special guest, bringing traditional tea ceremonies and sound healing experiences to the Hold Me Tight® weekend.
Her sessions will offer couples another opportunity to slow down, relax, and reconnect between and following the relationship-focused work of the workshop.
What Is Sound Healing?
Sound healing, sometimes called a sound bath or sound meditation, uses sustained sounds and vibrations created by instruments such as singing bowls, gongs, chimes, and other acoustic instruments.
Rather than listening to music in the traditional sense, participants generally become still and allow themselves to simply experience the sounds around them.
For this weekend, Zosha will use Tibetan singing bowls, gongs, and other instruments as part of guided sound experiences designed to encourage relaxation and create space for reflection.
There is also growing scientific interest in what happens during these kinds of experiences. One observational study involving 62 adults found that participants reported significantly less tension, anger, fatigue, and depressed mood after a Tibetan singing bowl meditation. The researchers noted that singing-bowl meditation may be useful as a low-cost approach for promoting relaxation and feelings of well-being, although more research is needed.
Sound healing should not be viewed as a replacement for mental health care or medical treatment. Here, it is something much simpler: another opportunity during the weekend to become quiet, settle in, and experience something together.
Why Include Sound Healing in a Couples Workshop?
There is a natural connection between the two experiences.
The Hold Me Tight® program is based on the work of Dr. Sue Johnson and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT). Hold Me Tight workshops help couples recognize patterns that leave them disconnected, better understand one another, and develop new patterns of communication and connection. Workshops typically incorporate discussion, video, and guided exercises couples complete together.
During the Dickinson Ranch weekend, couples will be having meaningful conversations about their relationships.
They'll explore emotional needs.
They'll look at the cycles that sometimes leave them feeling stuck, misunderstood, or alone.
They'll practice communicating differently.
And they'll have private opportunities to work through exercises together as partners.
That can be meaningful work.
The addition of Zosha's sessions creates moments within the weekend when couples don't have to analyze, explain, solve, or find exactly the right thing to say.
They can simply slow down together.
Meet Special Guest Zosha from Sound Will Heal
Zosha will bring her experience with sound healing and guided imagery to Dickinson Ranch as a special guest throughout the weekend.
Using Tibetan singing bowls, gongs, and other instruments, she will guide participants through sound experiences intended to create an atmosphere of deep relaxation and renewal.
And she isn't coming for just one presentation.
Zosha will be woven into several parts of the weekend experience.
Friday: Beginning the Weekend Differently
Couples can arrive at Dickinson Ranch anytime on Friday and have time to settle into their room or cabin before the workshop begins.
At 5:30 PM, Zosha will welcome participants with a traditional tea ceremony.
Then, from 6:00–8:00 PM, Rachel Christensen, LCSW, Marriage Counselor, will begin the Hold Me Tight® workshop.
It's an intentionally gentle beginning to a weekend devoted to something that can easily get pushed aside in busy lives: your relationship.
Saturday: Connection, Conversation and Sound
Saturday begins with breakfast from 7:30–8:30 AM, followed by another traditional tea ceremony with Zosha at 8:30 AM.
The Hold Me Tight® workshop with Rachel runs from 9:00 AM–5:00 PM, incorporating the discussions, videos, concepts, and private partner exercises that are central to the program.
Following the day's workshop, couples will participate in a sound healing session with Zosha before dinner.
After spending the day talking, listening, learning, and connecting, the sound experience offers a different way to close that portion of the day — without requiring another conversation.
Sunday: One More Day to Slow Down
Sunday provides another full day at Dickinson Ranch.
Breakfast will be available from 7:30–8:30 AM, followed by lunch at 11:00 AM and a traditional tea ceremony with Zosha at 11:30 AM.
The final Hold Me Tight® workshop session runs from 12:00–6:00 PM, followed by dinner at 6:30 PM.
Then, at 7:30 PM, Zosha will lead a final sound healing experience.
Rather than rushing out the door the moment the formal workshop ends, couples have an opportunity to finish the experience in a quieter way.
More Than a Workshop — Time Set Aside for Each Other
One of the things that makes this particular Hold Me Tight® workshop different is the setting.
Couples aren't coming for a two-hour class and then immediately returning to errands, phones, work, laundry, children, appointments, and everything else waiting at home.
The workshop takes place over three days at Dickinson Ranch in the peaceful landscape outside Cedar City.
Rustic lodging at the ranch is included with registration, along with scheduled meals on Saturday and Sunday. Couples can stay in one of the property's cabins or available rooms in the main house and remain on-site throughout the weekend.
That gives you something increasingly difficult to find:
Uninterrupted time together.
Time to talk.
Time to listen.
Time to learn.
Time to be quiet.
And now, with Zosha joining the weekend, time to experience something completely different together.
What Is Included With Registration?
Registration is for both partners and includes admission to the complete three-day Hold Me Tight® Couples Workshop facilitated by Rachel Christensen, LCSW, Marriage Counselor.
It also includes the workshop discussions, videos, and private partner exercises; Zosha's traditional tea ceremonies and sound healing experiences; rustic on-site lodging at Dickinson Ranch; Friday evening snacks and drinks; and the scheduled Saturday and Sunday meals.
Refrigerator, stove, and basic food-preparation amenities are also available for personal food items couples may wish to bring.
Could Three Days Make a Difference?
Strong relationships aren't built because two people never become frustrated, hurt, distant, or misunderstood.
Connection has to be nurtured.
Dr. Sue Johnson's work emphasized emotional responsiveness and the importance of knowing that the person we love is emotionally accessible and responsive to us. Hold Me Tight® takes concepts from Emotionally Focused Therapy and translates them into conversations couples can begin having with each other.
That's what this weekend is really about.
Not creating a perfect relationship.
Not pretending problems don't exist.
But intentionally setting aside three days to turn toward one another.
To listen differently.
To understand a little more.
To reconnect.
And occasionally, to say nothing at all and simply listen to the sound of a singing bowl fade into the quiet.
